Dr. Alon Ben-Meir is a professor of international relations and Middle Eastern Studies at The New School and at New York University and is the Middle East Project Director at the World Policy Institute. Born in Baghdad, Dr. Ben-Meir has resided in the United States since the late 1960s. Dr. Ben-Meir earned his master's degree in philosophy and doctorate in international relations from Oxford University. He is the author of numerous books, including Middle East: Imperatives and Choices, A War We Must Win and The Last Option. Dr. Ben-Meir is a syndicated columnist for United Press International, with articles appearing regularly in U.S. and international newspapers such as the Washington Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the Jerusalem Post. Dr. Ben-Meir has contributed to many other periodicals, including Middle East Insight, Mediterranean Quarterly, and Middle East Policy and has appeared on the Today show, CNN, Fox News, and The O'Reilly Factor.
