Rashmika Mandanna (born 5 April 1996) is an Indian model and film actress who appears in Kannada films. She started her career as a model and went on to become an actress. She made her debut in Kirik Party starring Rakshith Shetty and well-known for her prominent role as Saanvi.
Early and personal life
Rashmika Mandanna was born in Virajpet, Kodagu district of Karnataka as the daughter of M.A Mandanna and Suman Mandanna. She has a sister Shiman Mandanna. She did her schooling in Coorg Public School, PUC in Mysore Institute of Commerce & Arts, Mysore and currently doing BA (Psychology, Journalism and English Literature) from M. S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science & Commerce in Bangalore.
Career
Rashmika started modelling in the year of 2014. She is the winner of Clean & Clear Fresh Face of India 2014 and became the brand ambassador of Clean & Clear in the year 2014. Then she got the title of TVC in Lamode Bangalore's top model hunt 2015. This helped her to get a lead role in a Kannada film Kirik Party.
Rashmika told Indiatimes about her entry to cinema industry "The makers of Kirik Party saw a picture of mine from the Clean & Clear Fresh Face of India 2014 competition — one in which I was dancing during the college round — and approached me to act in the film. So, it really got things going. I always wanted to be in films. I would watch actors receiving awards and thanking their parents in their acceptance speeches — that is something that I always wanted to do. But I honestly didn't think that I would bag such a big movie. I would just say that I'm lucky."
Debut and breakthrough (2016)
She made her debut at the age of 19 in the Kannada language film Kirik Party. Which received critical acclaim by the critics and the audiences and became one of the highest grossing films of 2016, in sandalwood.
