For example, after a 30 minute length of video is edited it needs to be rendered, and should the system take more than 30 minutes to render the clip it not a real-time system.
A lot depends on the effects, transistions, titles and other features - and quantity of features - added to the video prior to rendering it. The more the effects being applied the more the power required from the system to render the video in real-time.
