Desert Rose is the third track in Eric Johnson's Award winning album Ah Via Musicom. Originally released in 1990, the song was become one of Eric Johnson's most popular pieces. One of the album's three non-instrumentals (the other two being Nothing Can Keep me From You and Forty Mile Town), the song contains lyrics only in its first half (with the exception of the choruses), with the second hand containing a brilliant several minute guitar solo. Written by Eric Johnson for guitar, bass and drums the piece is one of the few songs that demonstrates Eric Johnson capabilities as both a guitarrist and a singer, as his tenor voice is vividly depicted in it.
