Originally consisting of Komuro, Keiko Yamada and Marc Panther, the group has been another triumph in a long line of successes associated with Komuro, with its singles consistently hitting the charts even to the present day. In late 2002 YOSHIKI, ex-keyboardist from X JAPAN, joined the group, but he left the band about a year later.
Their debut album, globe, sold over 4 million copies, and the band was awarded the Japanese Record Industry's highest honor for their single "wanna Be A Dreammaker" with a Nihon Record Taishō. Komuro also mentioned there will be some collaboration work with other artists with the artist title of globe featuring, and globe extreme for collaborations with YOSHIKI.

- Tetsuya Komuro (小室 哲哉, Komuro Tetsuya) (November 27, 1958 in Fuchu, Tokyo) - Also known just as TK, he is the keyboardist, producer and mastermind of the band. In the globe extreme era he played the guitar instead of keyboards.
- Marc Panther (real name: Ryuichi Sakai (酒井 龍一, Sakai Ryuichi) (February 27, 1970 in Marseille, France) - the rapper of the band, and sings in Japanese, English and French.
- Keiko Komuro (小室 桂子, Komuro Keiko) (Formerly Yamada) (August 18, 1972 in Usuki, Oita) - the vocalist of the band, known by the high notes she reaches.
- globe extreme
- YOSHIKI (November 20, 1965 in Tateyama, Chiba) - he played piano and keyboards. In September 2004 he joined the band, but as for August 2005 he was already out of globe because of work matters.
Biography
In the climb of fame of producer Tetsuya Komuro, he organized one of his castings searching for new singers in 1994, specially one that was called EUROGROOVE NIGHT. The young girl Keiko Yamada assited there encouraged by her friends, and her voice undoubtedly got the atention of Komuro instantly, and chose her initially for a solo career. Other one of the careers that TK was thinking to produce at that time was of the model and MTV VJ Marc Panther, who knew English and French apart from Japanese. Komuro finally had an idea to make a band using Keiko and Marc in main vocals, and himself as keyboardist and also some vocals.
The band signed with label Avex in 1995, creating their own sub-label, called avex globe. In August of the same year they released their first single, entitled "Feel Like dance". Little by little the band were becoming more popular, and as for their 4th single, "DEPARTURES", released in 1996, they were selling more than 4 million copies. The band's first studio album globe also released that year became a sensation, managing them to sell more than 4 millions copies, according to Oricon. The album was also the best selling one of that year. After have obtained so explosive sales in only two years of work, with more than 12 millions copies of singles sold only in Japan, and 13 millions of albums, the name of globe was established as one more Pop band inside the Japanese culture.
After their second album release, FACES PLACES, the band began their first large scale tour on a called globe@4domes, in which they performed at the four biggest Japanese domes from Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Tokyo, and all of them were amazing successes. A few months later they began also their first overseas tour around Asia along with some other artist from the Komuro Family, where they shared stage with artist like Namie Amuro and TRF. In 1994 they released 4 different singles in less than a month, in a project called the BRAND NEW globe 4 SINGLES. One of those songs, "wanna Be a Dreammaker" achieved the band's first Japan Record Award for one of their songs.
After a regular period of singles and albums, including their massive hit best compilation CRUISE RECORD 1995-2000 (#1 in Oricon), the band started to experiment with their music, exploring new musical areas. The first big step in this new era was the globe featuring project, in which TK, KEIKO and MARC released a solo single. The most succesful of the 3 singles was KEIKO's "on the way to YOU", and the singer started her first solo nationwide tour for Japan because of the success.
