Cartmel is a village in Cumbria several miles west of Grange-over-Sands. It is traditionally in Lancashire and boundary changes brought it into the newly created non-metropolitan county of Cumbria in 1974. The village is the location of the 12th century Cartmel Priory. It has more recently become known as the "home of sticky toffee pudding". Its racecourse hosts popular meetings two or three times a year, traditionally in Whit Week.

The village is served by the nearby Cark and Cartmel railway station on the Furness Line.

Cartmel College at Lancaster University is named after this village.
