Pharmacological differences
  • Agents with intrinsic sympathomimetic action (ISA)

Indication differences

Propranolol is the only agent indicated for control of tremor, portal hypertension, and esophageal variceal bleeding, and used in conjunction with α-blocker therapy in phaeochromocytoma.
