Jon Gaunt is an outspoken morning talk show presenter for talkSPORT. Earlier, he used to work at BBC Three Counties Radio and BBC WM. He then moved onto BBC London. After leaving BBC London he took a new position with BBC Coventry & Warwickshire but left after a month because of BBC editorial guidelines, which prevent its journalists working for other media (he was writing a column in The Sun newspaper).

He continues to write a column for the The Sun London newspaper and hosts a mid-morning current affairs show on talkSPORT, where he likes his listeners to refer to him as "Gaunty" and he often refers to them as "Big Boy". Gaunt, though seen by many as highly outspoken, commands a large radio audience.

Sony Awards

Gaunt was awarded three Sony Radio Academy Gold Awards in 2001 but he actually only won one for himself, the other two he collected on behalf of a team of producers and researchers.

Controversy

Jon Gaunt's career has seen it's fair share of controversy over the years. He has been up before the UK Broadcasting Standards Commission five times, three of those times the complaints made against him were upheld . He has also been criticised for suggesting to listeners that they come to a visit by the Deputy Prime Minister with bricks. .
