About removing items from your talk page
Hi, I noticed that you removed the note I left you earlier today, asking you not to remove tags like {{categorize}} from articles unless you had solved the issue that the tag addressed. Although it's not a policy, it is common courtesy not to delete talk page items unless you have at least responded to them. From Misplaced Pages:Talk_pages#User_talk_pages:
- Actively erasing non-harassing personal messages without replying (if a reply would be appropriate or polite) will probably be interpreted as hostile. In the past, this kind of behavior has been viewed as uncivil...
If you didn't understand something that I wrote, feel free to ask me. But in general, you should leave comments on your talk page (or on a talk page archive) unless they're harassment or personal attacks. | Mr. Darcy talk 01:33, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- No worries! Misplaced Pages:Wikiquette can take a little getting used to, and as you said, the technical aspects of the Wiki can too. If something else throws you, don't hesitate to put a question on my talk page. Thanks! | Mr. Darcy talk 14:52, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Unblock
This user is asking that his block be reviewed:
GiantSnowman (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am at a university so some other idiot has probbaly been vandalising, as it is my IP address that has been blocked, not my username. Please can I be unblocked?Notes:
- In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
- Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:
{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=I am at a university so some other idiot has probbaly been vandalising, as it is my IP address that has been blocked, not my username. Please can I be unblocked? |3 = ~~~~}}
If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}}
with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.
{{unblock reviewed |1=I am at a university so some other idiot has probbaly been vandalising, as it is my IP address that has been blocked, not my username. Please can I be unblocked? |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}
If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here
with your rationale:
{{unblock reviewed |1=I am at a university so some other idiot has probbaly been vandalising, as it is my IP address that has been blocked, not my username. Please can I be unblocked? |accept = accept reason here ~~~~}}
