Herding cats may refer to:

  • An idiom denoting a futile attempt to control or organize a class of entities which are inherently uncontrollable - as in the difficulty of attempting to command a large number of cats into a group (herd). University academics who work in the aerospace field are a good example of 'cats'. They can try work out flying cars, sending rockets to the moon but organising strategic meetings can be a bit tricky for them.
