Derek Fisher went to Little Rock, Arkansas University. Derek Fisher was selected 24th overall in the 1996 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Fisher spent his first eight seasons with the Lakers. Fisher averaged double digits in points in three different seasons (2000-2001, 2001-2002, and 2002-2003. Derek Fisher did a shot that will be forever remembered on game 5 of the 2003-2004 Western Confrence semifinals. The score was 72-73. 0.4 seconds left on the clock. Gary Payton in-bounded the ball to Derek Fisher. He was nicknamed "The Fish that saved L.A." The Lakers went on to win the Western Confrence Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves but lost to the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Finals. That memorable season with the Los Angeles Lakers was his last season with the Lakers. On July 16, 2004.
