Steve Barron

I was reading the page for Steve Barron and I had to do some changes, so I thought to let you know why I did that. Steven Barron did not made his directing debut on "Billie Jean" on 1983, he had done almost 30 music videos before that, making his debut in 1979. --L.a.m.b 15:27, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

James Callaghan

Hi, I reverted to the old infobox as I felt the new box was really too invasive to the page. Arniep 16:25, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Jesus

Check out the Jesus article and edit it to keep it focused on Jesus and a biographical account of Him. Watch the Jesus page to keep it focused on Him. Thank you. Scifiintel 22:17, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Your changes at The West Wing

Thanks for coming to edit at the Wiki. We hope you like it here. Regarding your changes at The West Wing, they are not wholly correct. I just wanted to clarify why I made the revert. You changed divisible by 4 to leap year in the section about when elections are held in the real world. This is not accurate because occasionally (like in the year 1900 or 2100) a year divisible by 4 is not a leap year. Thank you for reading over the article! -Scm83x 11:42, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Have I got news for you cats

Hi, I have asked for these to be listified on Misplaced Pages:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 December 18 as I don't think it is practical to have categories for every tv/radio programme or film people may have appeared on. Thanks Arniep 02:01, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Come and vote your mind

Dear Christian friend,

I saw you on the list of Christian Wikipedians and wanted to let you know about something. The other day, someone nominated 12 Christian biography entries for deletion! They include a Christian university list of people (not unlike 68 other lists like it), presidents of universities, and authors of many books.

Since that time, people have been voting. Please take this message as a call to vote; not a call to vote a certain way. I respect you and your ability to come, read the entry, and make a wise decision. In other words, I’m not vote stacking or campaigning; simply letting you know something that you’d probably like to know.

By the way, my friend recently started an organization called Wiki4Christ. If you’d like to join a network of Christians with a purpose on Misplaced Pages, please see the site!

Below are some of the links that need attention. Thanks for your consideration.

Image Tagging Image:John_Major.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:John_Major.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --OrphanBot 02:54, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that that particular version of the Royal Arms falls under the fair use rather than PD part of the coa-fair use tag--iirc there are peculiar restrictions on govt versions of the arms. Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 13% for major edits and 2% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 18:30, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Dominion (Star Trek).png

Thanks for uploading Image:Dominion (Star Trek).png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam 21:22, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Hindu calendar eras

Hi; I've got a suggestion for improving your Template:Different calendars. It concerns the "Hindu calendar", which is really a number of different regional calendars following similar principles and terminology. Specifically, I think different eras besides Kali Yuga should be included: I'd appreciate it if you could look at my proposal and say what you think. Good work on the photo there, Philip - where on earth is it from? I've never seen it before! It's certainly very different to any I've seen of him before: still, good work.

Is there anything you feel is lacking in the article (particularly the Incident of the Birds section - I'm not entirely sure it makes total sense)?

Yeah, that's a pretty good template you have there. I haven't done much editing and creation, other than the 2 Richard Gwyn ones and most of Oxford University Labour Club...I keep meaning to, but it's just a bit of a pain in the arse. Oxymoron 13:40, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Romano Prodi

Misplaced Pages is not a crystal ball, that's why I removed that infobox. It is not sure Prodi will be appointed as new Prime Minister, especially if the Senate, which has a very narrow majority of the centre-left, should either elect a president different than the centre-left candidate or refuse a vote of confidence on Prodi. I wouldn't be so sure of that, so it's much better to wait for the events yet to come. --Angelo 19:03, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. YellowDot 15:48, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Vote on your nomination

You should vote on your RM nomination at Jack Straw (politician). I'm not sure the nominator is always counted otherwise. —  AjaxSmack  01:45, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Incumbent

I just thought you might want to take another look at the definition of incumbent. As it is used in the articles you changed, it was used correctly. The incumbent, in politics, is the current holder of a political office. . The incumbent doesn't have to be available for reelection. A few definitons AuburnPilot 16:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
