Mars Rising and its sequel Deimos Rising are scrolling shooter video games designed and programmed by David Wareing and published by Ambrosia Software for Macintosh computers in 1998 and 2001 respectively. Deimos Rising was also ported to Microsoft Windows in 2003.
Gameplay
Mars Rising's setting and gameplay has been compared to similar scrolling shooters Xevious and Raiden. The 2001 sequel, Deimos Rising, adds 16-bit color, alpha transparency, motion blur, improved artwork and a wider range of enemies and weapons.
