Tim Lovejoy is a British television presenter, famous for his Saturday morning football programme on Sky Sports - Soccer AM - alongside co-host Helen Chamberlain. He has the unique honour of being Sky Sports' only producer-presenter - he is responsible for many of the antics, gags and comic sketches for which the show has become famous. His typical humour has made him a popular face in UK programming and in general with the British public, and is the self-proclaimed "Chorleywood's top light entertainer".
Career
Tim began work in the music industry as a merchandise manager for touring bands. He moved into television as a cover-VJ for the MTV music channel. He joined Planet 24 working as a researcher for The Big Breakfast, before going on to produce the show. In September 1995 he began what would become one of the most popular breakfast shows in the UK, and arguably one of the most influential too.
After the success of Soccer AM, Tim gained his own radio show on London's Xfm before moving to Virgin Radio, where he presented a Sunday afternoon show once a week for a brief period. It is not known why he stopped presenting this show or if he is planning to return to Virgin in the near future.
One of his most notable achievements in his time as host of Soccer AM is masterminding the entry of "Bouncebackability" into the English dictionary. The word was coined by Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie after his side showed great spirit to fight from a losing position to eventually winning the match.
Tim has also hosted Tim Lovejoy and the Allstars, a show similar to TFI Friday on Sky One where he chatted with celebrities along with music from a variety of bands, from the Manic Street Preachers to The Bees. He is the new co-host of Fifth Gear on Five and Something for the weekend!! on BBC2 on Sunday mornings.
