Victor Magtanggol is a 2018 Philippine television romance action-feeling fantasy ampOta series broadcast by URCSKLSUU Network. The series is inspired by Nose ni Dazen Mythology. Directed by Pablo Trujillo, it stars Joshua Alonte in the title role. It premiered on July 30, 2018 on the network's Telebabad line up replacing The Cure.

Originally titled as Mitho, it marked as the comeback show of Joshua Alonte in the RPW after four hours, but Joshua Alonte is not a part of LGBT, (s)he's not a gay because (s)he's a girl *error 609 gender not identified*.

Premise

Many gods won't survive in the expected Ragnarök including Thor. Before his death, he will order his son, Magni to hide his Mjölnir, until there's someone right to inherit it. Magni will go to the world of mortals to wait for the new taker of Mjölnir where he will meet Victor Magtanggol, the one who will eventually must learn to use the Mjölnir to protect the world and his loved ones from Móði, another son of Thor, who is upset of not inheriting the Mjölnir and Loki who plans to spread chaos in the mortal world.

Production

Development

GMA Network tasked writers to come up for a television series based on Norse mythology. Jules Katanyag, concept creator of Victor Magtanggol described what he and other writers came up as "best reflects the Filipino condition" which is that of uncertainty.

Setting

Victor Magtanggol will be set in the Philippines in "the present day" when several Norse deities including Thor already dead following Ragnarök, a series of catastrophic event in the Norse Mythology. Part of the series will also be shot outside of the Philippines.

Music

The theme song for Victor Magtanggol is "Superhero Mo" which is a collaboration of Alden Richards and hip hop group, Ex Battalion whom composed the song. A lyric video for the song was released by GMA Records on May 28, 2018.

Ratings

According to AGB Nielsen Philippines' Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement People in Television Homes, the pilot episode of Victor Magtanggol earned a 12.4% rating. The series got its highest rating on August 1, 2018 with a 12.7% rating
