Jicomé Distrito municipal de jicomé is a town in the Valverde province of the Dominican Republic in the northwest of the country. It is in the centre of El Cibao, the most populous region in the country.

Economy

The main economic activities of the municipality are tobacco, Rice , milk , eggs and plantain.

Other economic activities include cattle ranches, industry and commerce. There are various dairy product industries in the municipality, as well a tobacco factory, bakeries, carpentry shops, cement block factories, gas stations, repair shops, hardware stores, among others.

Notable people from Jicomé

Hipólito Pichardo (born August 22, 1969) is a Dominican former right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for three teams between 1992 and 2002. He batted and threw right-handed.
