Subotica is a city in the northern Yugoslavia, in the autonomous region of Voivodina. It is the second largest city of the region next to Novi Sad. The city has population of about 100000 and it is situated only about 10 km from the border with Hungary. Surroundings of Subotica are mainly farmland but the city itself is an important Yugoslav industrial and transportation centre.
