Normally, it is sold at delicatessens or delicatessen counters at markets, along with fish products often called appetizing foods which include smoked fishes, bagels, cream cheese, and pickled olives. Sweet Muenster Cheese melts easily on crackers or toast.
Sweet Muenster Cheese is not the same product as Muenster Cheese; sweet muenster cheese is a processed food, while Muenster Cheese is a natural aged and cured cheese.
Sweet Muenster Cheese melts very well and can be used to prepare snacks with little effort. The Classic Sweet Muenster Cheese Melt, invented by R. S. Wenocur to accompany Harvest Moon Cocktails has the following simple recipe: On a microwavable plate, spread Triscuits, cover with slices of Sweet Muenster Cheese, and microwave on high for 45 seconds.
