Computer Associates International, Inc is a computer software and consultancy company, founded in New York by Charles B. Wang in 1976.

Software Products

In November, 2004, the company offered the following software products:

  • Life Cycle Management: AllFusion
  • Data Management and Application Development: Advantage
  • Enterprise Management: Unicenter
  • Portal and Business Intelligence: CleverPath
  • Security Management: eTrust
  • Storage: BrightStor

The company also provides consultancy services of various kinds, and hardware solutions.

History

After founding Chairman and CEO Charles B. Wang retired in 2002, he was succeeded by Sanjay Kumar.

In April 2004, in the face of a Fraud case, Kumar stepped down as CEO, and in May, Ken Cron was nominated interim CEO, while the company sought a replacement.

CA is the world's third-largest independent software company with approximately 16,000 employees, and a 1999 IndustryWeek 1000 company.

Fraud charges

In September, 2004, former CEO and chairman of the board Sanjay Kumar was indicted in Brooklyn along with his former head of worldwide sales, Stephen Richards, on charges of fraud.
