Lee Jones is the author of Winning Low-Limit Hold 'em and a contributor of poker articles to Card Player Magazine.
Jones earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Duke University in North Carolina in 1978, and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1983.
Since October 2003, Jones has worked as the cardroom manager of the PokerStars online poker cardroom. As the poker room manager, Jones decides which poker tournaments and games to offer the players. His popularity has grown to cult status as a result of his affiliation with PokerStars, and the phrase "Lee-Jones" is now used universally to describe the act of dealing a horrific beat to another player, usually at a most crucial stage in a tournament, and in the most gut-wrenching of ways.

In fairness to Lee, control over the assignment of cards in an online cardroom is generally relinquished to random number generator (RNG) software. However, some conspiracy theorists believe Lee hovers over a control panel like the Wizard of Oz during particularly important hands, laughing maniacally as he manipulates the fates of many would-be poker pros.
