C-Note and his wife and daughter are relaxing in an RV, at a Harvey, North Dakota lakeside. Kaycee tells C-Note that Deedee does not have her dexamethasone medicine, and they must get some soon. Using the RV, they drive to town, to a pharmacy. Kaycee attempts to buy the medicine, but the pharmacist recognizes Kaycee from a newspaper photograph, and goes to the back of the pharmacy to "get change", but presumably calls the authorities.
She returns and slowly gives Kaycee change and the medicine, and she runs from the store. She is quickly intercepted and arrested by Harvey police, but not before she has eye contact with C-Note and drops the medicine in a nearby trash receptacle.
Sara Tancredi is still submerged in the motel bathtub, attempting to remove the bathtub drain plug, while Agent Paul Kellerman is unwrapping a body bag and a hack saw. The room television is on at maximum volume, set to a fishing show. A motel attendant knocks on the door and tells Kellerman to turn the television down and inquiries about the water noises from the bathroom. Kellerman makes excuses and locks the door shut. By the time he returns to the bathroom, Sara is freed. She catches Kellerman by surprise and burns his chest with an iron. She jumps out the window and smashes into a car windshield below. Wounded, Sara hides in a public restroom and stitches her own wounds while wincing in pain.
Kellerman gets a telephone call from Agent Kim. When asked about Sara, Kellerman replies that she's dead. Agent Kim demands proof in the form of a photo of her dead body via his camera phone. Kellerman excuses himself, and after leaving Mission Gabriel Hospital, Kellerman calls Agent Kim and Caroline Reynolds' office. Kim doesn't answer him, and Reynolds' office claims to have no record of an Agent Kellerman.
In the meantime, Agent Kim tells his underling to "make him a ghost", as Kellerman is erased from every photograph in government records.
Brad Bellick is inside a Tribune, Kansas police station. When he doesn't answer Detective Slattery's questions to her satisfaction, she replies that she doesn't care if him and Roy Geary were partying behind their wives' backs, or if they were going Brokeback together, that she just wants to know the truth about what happened. Bellick finally tells her that they were tracking down Theodore Bagwell, but does not mention Charles Westmoreland's money. Eventually, she is given the credit card receipt with Bellick's name on it found at the crime scene, as well as a copy of Bellick's death threat left on Geary's voice mail. Bellick is placed under arrest for first degree murder and read his Miranda Rights.
Michael Scofield is distraught when his brother Lincoln Burrows introduces Aldo Burrows as his father. Michael announces that he knows Aldo. He recalls a childhood memory when he sustained child abuse at the hands of a foster parent. Aldo killed the man, took Michael out the dark room he was imprisoned in, and told Michael not to look back. He did anyway, and saw the brutally beaten body of his abusive foster father.
After Aldo explains to Michael about The Company, Agent Alexander Mahone appears from a cliff above and starts to fire on the group. Michael, Lincoln and Sucre run to get the car, while Aldo and Mahone fire at one another from their fortified positions. Aldo is retrieved and safe in the car, but not before he is fatally shot. Aldo utters his last words, and dies. Michael and Lincoln bury Aldo by the roadside, using a makeshift Christian cross as a monument. The brothers spend some time to reflect, until Sucre tells them that they should all get moving.
Agent Mahone is phoning the authorities, instructing them to "put an alarm out on a dark blue sedan. License: Ae9268. 20 miles southeast of Las Cruces". He then goes to a Carlsbad, New Mexico hospital to meet with the Coyote who tried to ambush Michael during Bolshoi Booze. The Coyote tries to cleverly negotiate a plea deal where he gives up Scofield's exact location in exchange for immunity and US Citizenship. In response, Mahone disconnects several crucial pieces of equipment including a morphine drip. He discovers the location of the rendezvous and orders that the smuggling airplane (A36 Beech) be intercepted by military jets from a nearby Navy Reserve Airstation.
The group of three escapees finally make it to the airplane rendezvous point, but while Sucre runs to the open airplane door, Michael and Lincoln stay put by the car. They tell Sucre that they will stay behind that they are through with running. Michael's parting words to Sucre are, "fly safe, papi".
With Mahone behind their trail, Michael makes a desperate attempt to contact Sara Tancredi on her mobile telephone while close to a transmission tower. She answers the telephone, but not before Mahone smashes his Ford Crown Victoria into Michael and Lincoln's car, causing a fire. Exhausted but madly determined, Mahone aims his gun at the brothers.
