Sherman3D (S3D) is an online anime game development community. It's communication oriented website is located at: www.Sherman3D.com

S3D was founded by Sherman Chin in 2001. Its members, SEVO (Sherman3D Extended Volunteer Organization), are volunteers who work without pay to develop Japanese anime based console-style role-playing video games.

S3D's members comprise game developers from different parts of the world with their own unique contributions to our games based on their individual skill level, experience, culture, and so on. We create anime based console-style role-playing games with intricately woven storylines that combine romance, action and comedy. Many of today's games are "marred" with extreme violence but we are striving to develop games that embody good moral values and engrossing storylines with a touch of anime comedy. The success of this genre of games is proven by Japanese games such as Xenogears, Thousand Arms, Rhapsody and the Final Fantasy series.

Sherman3D has a long history where it started as a spinoff from Epix Interactive Studios Inc., a Delaware based company started by Joseph M. Tringali (now the General Manager of 5th Cell Media LLC.) in 2001 where the latter had to be closed down when their MMORPG, Fate, was cancelled after the burst of the dot com bubble. The community was founded as a means of keeping the former Epix staff connected and continuously sharing information with each other.

The S3D community succeeded in creating the Karawachi space shooter game which caught the eye of Butterfly.net that subsequently invited S3D to develop an MMORPG for their supercomputing grid. Unfortunately, the project was never completed and Sherman3D ended its term with Butterfly.net

S3D is currently developing its own episodic Role Playing Game (RPG) entitled Alpha Kimori (www.AlphaKimori.com) and is also working closely with 5th Cell Media LLC. to bring players closer to the ultimate mobile phone gaming experience.

To date, S3D has completed various smaller outsourced games and published its own mobile game title, Kris Master, on the Nokia Software Market. S3D places more emphasis on building a thriving community and has released many resources including tutorials, anime reviews, source code and various other graphical downloads for free.
