It was done mostly in medeval times, although it is still performed in Renesanse fairs. The to knghts are each equiped with three weapons; A lance, A one handed sword, and a rondel. If there is a tie, meaning both knights are knocked off at the same time, then they draw swords and the last standing is victorious. When one knight knocks the other off of their mount he is declared the winner of the round. The knights usually jousted in a best out of three situation. The reward of the tournament was the hand of his choice of lady.
