Tim Smith (born 16 February 1961 in Swindon) is an English broadcaster and radio personality in the UK. Whilst studying 'TV, Film, Drama & English' at the College of Ripon and York St John he presented several different programmes on University Radio York at York University. In 1984 after graduation he worked for several stations including BBC Radio York and BBC Radio Shropshire. In April 1989, after a short stint with BBC WM, Tim went on to present the weekend early show from 5 to 7 am on BBC Radio 1, where he remained until March 1990, when he was succeeded by Jenny Costello. He occasionally filled in on the weekday early show during 1991 and co-presented a number of Radio 1 Roadshows including one on Plymouth Ho with Steve Wright! He also presented the 29 June 1989 episode of Top of the Pops alongside Anthea Turner.

From there, he went on to present the weekday afternoon show on BBC GLR, The GLR Picture Show & also presented a phone in pop quiz on the old BBC Radio 5, entitled Popcall, which he did for three years. He also presented the UK Top 20 Chart Show on the BBC World Service for nearly 14 years from October 1989.

In the mid 1990s, Tim presented programmes for Magic 105.4, a film show on the BBC World Service and the Breakfast Show on London's Jazz FM. He joined BBC Radio 2 in 1999 as a co-host on Steve Wright in the Afternoon. He also presented shows himself on Radio 2, standing in for the likes of Janice Long, Alex Lester and Richard Alinson. He continues to work with Steve Wright on Radio 2 and until recently (April 2019) he presented the Saturday Morning Show on BBC Radio Oxford. He's also appeared (with colleague Janey Lee Grace) on 'Celebrity Ready Steady Cook' and 'Celebrity Antiques Road Trip'.
