Logged out edits (Dec 2019)

Hello Praxidicae! Sometime ago you wrote in my user talk page that you think that I made some edits on Kailaasa while I wasn't logged in. But I'm 99% sure that I didn't do that. I have seen most of the edits made by people who were not logged in on that page and I dont remember making any of those changes (except of course the ones made by my account). Thank you and have a nice day Ankur Bhandari (talk) 7:15 pm Wednesday, 4 December 2019 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)

I think I know which edit you were talking about. If you were referring to the "removed rubbish text" edit and the others like it then I didn't do it. By the way, I love your user page(if that's what it's called) Ankur Bhandari (talk) 19:49, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

Thank you and sorry for the confusion. Praxidicae (talk) 19:57, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

Dear Praxidicae, I am currently editing Naval Support Activity Crane's page. You inadvertently reverted it back to a redirect. It warrants an entire page. Please see Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg or any other Naval Support Activity page to see what we are trying to accomplish. If you have an issue with this, please let me know. Otherwise, please wait for the final product.Jmnagan (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:11, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

It was not inadvertent, Jmnagan. It was intentional, per my edit summary. You should refrain from editing any articles for which you have a conflict of interest and instead request changes on the talk page. Additionally, your removal of a redirect was inappropriate as the content is entirely unsourced and it is not independently notable. Lastly, please remember to sign your edits to talk pages with 4 tildes: ~~~~ Praxidicae (talk) 15:13, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Dear Praxidicae, to that point, there is no conflict of interest. Although I am the public affairs officer for the installation, this, by the nature of my job, makes me responsible for educating and informing the public on the installation. I am a subject matter expert. To that point, I have made every effort to provide historical, non-editorialized materials to support these edits. Citations would be forthcoming if allowed to continue. If someone else would like to make the changes, I welcome them the opportunity, but knowing how elusive military topics can be, this is why this page has remained a gross misplaced redirect, since its inception, akin to allowing a business to be called the city in which it resides. Please reconsider. Jmnagan (talk) 15:21, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Jmnagan Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia - not an extension of any of the subjects that have articles. You have a direct conflict of interest per Wikimedia's policy. If you wish to make changes, you need to request them on the talk page and provide a reliable (and preferably independent) source for each statement. Additionally, as part of your job is "getting the word out", I should inform you that Misplaced Pages is not a soapbox. Praxidicae (talk) 15:22, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

I get your point, but education, to include history, is not a soapbox. Nothing that was on the page could be contested as anything other than historical fact. Did you actually read anything that was on the page? Sure, I hadn't added citations yet, but history is fairly easy to cite. The installation exists; there is no denying that. Rather than deleting several hours worth of work, it would have been vastly more productive to read and review the content. So, I ask that you give the content a chance, and then the community can peer-review rather than doing nothing as has been done thus far. I am willing to do that, but it looks like you are not. Jmnagan (talk) 15:30, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Jmnagan Please read the COI guidelines and follow the instructions. Arguing here on my talk page isn't doing either of us any favors. Praxidicae (talk) 15:31, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Furthermore, although the Navy may sign may pay stub, I work for the American taxpayer. My obligation by regulation is to them. Jmnagan (talk) 15:33, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Jmnagan Well I guess it's a good thing Misplaced Pages is a global encyclopedia then. Praxidicae (talk) 15:34, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

So, Praxidicae, being new to this, and wanting to get this content corrected, how do I get the word out to solicit editors to get this page stood up? If I can't be of help, maybe you can. Jmnagan (talk) 15:36, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Jmnagan As previously stated, request the changes on the talk page of the article(s) in question and provide an independent source for each statement. Praxidicae (talk) 15:38, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Although this discussion did not go as I wanted to, I appreciate your candor and education. Jmnagan (talk) 15:48, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Article modifications

Hi @Praxidicae, thanks for your input in the article. I have been working on the article based on your observations and members of the chat advised me to talk with you about the COI issue. I read from cover to cover the COI Misplaced Pages article and I understand I fulfill the requirements to be an author for this article. I am not a friend, relative, employee, or nothing related other than my interest in the field of his expertise. He is a very well known author in a the field and I have been following his work for a couple of years - I am surprise nobody else did the article before- Please if you don't mind, could you check the article with all the new editions I did? Should I do something else in this regard? Sorry, this is my first article.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your time and effort.

--Mdsjm (talk) 03:21, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Mdsjm Can you please explain then how you uploaded this now deleted photo as your own work? Praxidicae (talk) 18:30, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Pradixicae. Thanks for answering. I thought that otherwise I was not going to be able to upload the picture for copyright stuff so I checked the box. I took the picture from the regular Google search. Sorry I guess am a newbie and this is the first article that I am trying to write, but I am getting better thanks to the community teaching! I been trying to check all the references to see if they were direct and from a broad spectrum of sources. Could you give me some feedback in this regard? Thank you very much!!--Mdsjm (talk) 05:23, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Reverts

Thank you for your comments on my edits. As a new user, I appreciate the feedback. It is not clear why you think some of the citations are spam, but I will try to discern your objection and correct it going forward. Mark (talk) 19:57, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Markwlittle

As a courtesy, this is to notify you that an article you supported for deletion in a recent deletion review, Kartikeya Sharma, has been restored to mainspace with new information and sources. You may wish to examine the new version to see if you have any remaining concerns regarding notability. SilkTork (talk) 11:04, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

THANKS!

Thank you for deleting the article tulasi pujan diwas, the reason i moved it was because the article, had false information insulting my religion, and the fact that "Amicable" Always was glorifying a convicted pedophile, so thanks for your help!Gumshoe97 (talk) 16:50, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

I am not sure you understood my message, Gumshoe97. None of the actions that you've taken with regard to this were appropriate. I highly suggest you tone down the language too as it can be seen as a personal attack. Praxidicae (talk) 16:51, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

alright, but I was wondering what exactly happened to the article, because I don't see it any where! Gumshoe97 (talk) 16:53, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Senna spectabilis

Just wanted to double-check that I got the entire copyvio. I went back to the revision that was tagged, but I saw there were quite a few earlier edits from the student, and I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:39, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

And this is why I could never run a sock farm - I meant to post from the account that actually did the revdel. Guettarda (talk) 20:41, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
There appears to be quite a bit more from other students as well. I've gone back to the last non-cv and most appropriate version, Guettarda, would you mind revdelling the rest? Praxidicae (talk) 20:43, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
And as I said that, one student recreated the copyvio in their sandbox. Praxidicae (talk) 20:45, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Senna spectabilis article

Hi, sorry about the edit war I'm here to make peace, can you overlook the article after the changes I made, let me know if I show change anything — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sendi Mejia (talkcontribs) 21:46, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi

I re opened up the case because MyOptimism was listed as inconclusive, and his editing pattern was very suspicious, so I wanted to confirm if he was a sock or not. Gumshoe97 (talk) 13:57, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

It was closed with no action in the correct case with no action. I'm not a CU or SPI clerk but I'd recommend requesting deletion of that since no one felt the need to take any actual action, it's under the wrong case and they've had no edits since the case was closed. Praxidicae (talk) 13:59, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

I think it is appropriate to do this, because i'm worried if that user is a sock he might open up the same dispute I had with Amicable, thanks for understanding! Gumshoe97 (talk) 14:02, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

And I'm telling you that you're only going to irritate the people at SPI since you've not only reopened a closed case where there have been exactly 0 edits but you've filed incorrectly, but you do you, I guess. Any further discussion about this should take place on the SPI. Praxidicae (talk) 14:03, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

I see what you mean. Gumshoe97 (talk) 14:05, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

RE: Justice Anin-Yeboah's Page for Deletion

Hi Praxidicae ,

I noticed you put a tag on a article i posted on a Supreme Court Judge of Ghana. I did not write the article to promote him whatsoever. The Man has work diligently throughout the years and creating Misplaced Pages page for him should not be seen as promotion . You can read more about him as he has also been nominated to be the new Chief Justice of Ghana .. Hope this finds you well . Thank you . --Randybaah (talk) 16:58, 12 December 2019 (UTC)-
Hello Randybaah! Thank you for adding that information. I think Justice Anin-Yeboah is notable according to Misplaced Pages's guidelines, we just need to be careful of a few things. One of the reasons why Praxidicae marked the article for speedy deletion is that large portions of the text were copied from copyrighted newspaper articles, something that Misplaced Pages doesn't do. I think those are good sources, we just need to put them in our own words and then reference them (just like the references you used in your article). I agree that the article as it's currently written doesn't seem to be promotional, but we could definitely do some work on it. Let's go back to your Sandbox and I can get started on helping you with a re-write, and then hopefully we can get the article accepted! :) Bkissin (talk) 17:21, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

hello Bkissin thank you for your kind words .. i gladly accept the help to make the article better , will be on waiting for your inputs . Thanks ones again --Randybaah (talk) 17:41, 12 December 2019 (UTC)--

i did some few edits and added so few write ups to the page too . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Randybaah (talkcontribs) 17:46, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

why have you suggested the speedly deletion of the article kidatz i wounder why, there is no need for deletion because it does not violates any copyrights thank you

If you bothered to read the deletion notice, you'd see why. Also please avoid making edits while logged out. Praxidicae (talk) 14:35, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
ok what is wrong on the article

I see you are seriously suggesting the deletion for the article — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.249.102.48 (talk) 14:47, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

Conversight.ai

Just a courtesy note to let you know I've declined your speedy tag at Conversight.ai. The article was borderline, and I can see why you tagged it as G11, but I don't think the level of promotion quite rises to the level of unambiguous advertising, and there are some good sources there so I think it may be salvageable. If you want to take it to AFD, feel free. ~ ONUnicornproblem solving 16:08, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

Gratitude

Weeks ago I had what seemed like a misunderstanding with you which ended in me almost losing my cool if not actually losing it. But since that day I learnt an imperative lesson & even became a better editor. I may have disagreed with your tone but in the end it did assist me a lot & for that I say thank you.Celestina007 (talk) 17:27, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

Cheers

Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry

This hot Tom and Jerry is an old-time drink that is once used by one and all in this country to celebrate Christmas with, and in fact it is once so popular that many people think Christmas is invented only to furnish an excuse for hot Tom and Jerry, although of course this is by no means true.

No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well P. MarnetteD|Talk 05:50, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

Revert back to previous edit on Claude Vonstroke

hello, you've hit undo to all of the changes that I made to Claude Vonstroke's page and I wanted to know if this is because you think there is a conflict of interest? I stated on the talk page that I was hired to update his page and on my account profile, it states that I am paid by all of the pages I contribute to. Please let me know what other issues there are so that we can reinstate the edition that was approved by mgmt Runawaytonight (talk) 20:34, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

You must disclose properly but you need to request changes and refrain from making them directly. Praxidicae (talk) 20:35, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

what is disclosing properly? I posted that i was hired in the talk page before I started making changes. Can you reinstate my revision while this is sorted? Thank you Runawaytonight (talk) 20:55, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Per our COI policies and guidelines you need to be requesting changes via the talk page. Not making them yourself. Praxidicae (talk) 20:55, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

okay, but what haven't I disclosed? Runawaytonight (talk) 20:58, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

@Runawaytonight: Praxidicae was merely stating that it is proper to disclose, as you have. The more important part of what they said is that you absolutely cannot be making direct edits to the articles you are associated with. Adding a disclaimer to your userpage does not give you permission to edit such articles, the disclosure is merely required for you to be allowed to even discuss these articles and to edit any other part of our site (not including the article's you are associated with, as we just said that is not allowed ever).
