Teresa Nielsen Hayden (born 1956) is an American science fiction editor, fanzine writer, and essayist.

Born Teresa Nielsen, she grew up in a Mormon household. She affixed Hayden to her name upon marrying the former Patrick Hayden in 1979; he returned the compliment, changing his name to Patrick Nielsen Hayden.

She is the former managing editor and now consulting editor at Tor Books. In 1994, a collection of her essays, Making Light was published.

Outside the science-fiction community, Nielsen Hayden is probably best known for her blog, Making Light, on which she writes about subjects ranging from animal hoarding to publishing scams to global political events.
