Richard Hammond is a British television presenter for the Top Gear program. Earlier in his career he worked at Radio York and Radio Cumbria. He also presents "Brainiac: Science Abuse" on Sky One and "Should I worry about?" on the BBC.

He is also known as "hamster" and is famous for his snazzy shirts. Has a (largely female) cult following on the internet.

A former pupil of Ripon Grammar School, from 1987 to 1989 he attended Harrogate College of Art and Technology and was friends with author and academic Jonathan Baldwin.
