This user is NOT a humanThis is the combined talk page for ClueBot NG and ClueBot III. These users are automated computer programs and are not humans. Please be aware that bots cannot think like a human and cannot operate outside of their programming. Messages you leave on this talk page will not be answered by a bot – either a bot operator or another human will answer you. Stop False positives and false negativesIf you believe that ClueBot NG has mistakenly identified a good edit as vandalism, please follow the directions in the warning it gave or click here. Please do not report it on this talk page. It takes less time to report the case to the correct location, and we can handle it more effectively there.
If you believe that ClueBot NG has missed an edit that is vandalism, again do not report it here. ClueBot is unable to catch all vandalism. Just revert the edit and warn the editor. Weird article index order

User talk:TTN, which uses ClueBot III, has the archive index starting with 2, 1, 3, 4... instead of 1, 2, 3, 4... What is the reason for this? JIP | Talk 13:57, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Is the “Edit summary” taken into consideration at all by ClueBot NG?

Also: does it take into consideration the fact that the user used the “Preview” function at least once before posting the edit?

I’m asking because I have a feeling that my edit would not have been considered vandalism if the bot had seen that it was accompanied by a carefully worded summary and had been previewed.

I read the FAQ and other documentation, so I understand that the bot “learns”, which is very nice, but isn’t it desirable that users like me get an opportunity to learn as well? Failing that, the result of what I consider to be an unjustified revert by this bot is that I am that much less likely to bother to contribute anything to Misplaced Pages from now on. 74.58.147.69 (talk) 14:16, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

The edit summary is available to ClueBot NG, but it is impossible to know how it is weighted by the bot. The bot is not able to see if you've previewed the page before saving because that information is not stored by MediaWiki. False positives happen with human and bot patrollers alike. You should report the false positive by following the instructions at User:ClueBot NG/FalsePositives. This case is a bit weird, since the ANN gave the edit a score of 1, or a 100% chance of being vandalism. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 14:48, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
I tried to report it but it’s not clear if it worked. I got a green checkmark on the reCAPTCHA and then clicked on the “Post comment” button, but that only led to the page remaining in place except for the reCAPTCHA being reset. However, in the middle of the page, in the “Reporter Information” section, the Status field shows “Reported”, but that was present even before I clicked on “Post comment”. This is confusing. 74.58.147.69 (talk) 16:45, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

ClueBot NG is a pending changes reviewer - why?

ClueBot NG is flagged as a pending changes reviewer. But, it have never accepted pending changes (https://en.wikipedia.org/Special:Log?type=review&user=ClueBot+NG&page=&wpdate=&tagfilter=&subtype=accept) or unaccepted accepted revisions (https://en.wikipedia.org/Special:Log?type=review&user=ClueBot+NG&page=&wpdate=&tagfilter=&subtype=unaccept), so it has never used the rights. Furthermore, looking at the BRFAs I found I don't see any approval to act as a reviewer. The rights were added by @Cobi in 2010 with the summary "+ClueBot's flags." - are these still needed? Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 21:57, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

If a editor who is not +PC undoes an edit by another editor, wouldn't that "undo" edit appear a pending? DMacks (talk) 03:36, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
@DMacks: no - all autoconfirmed users have autoreview. +PC just allows accepting (or unaccepting) edits by users without autoreview (ip / non-confirmed) DannyS712 (talk) 03:48, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
I just applied the same flags that ClueBot had at the time, as ClueBot was being decommissioned and ClueBot NG was replacing it. See this log entry for when that right was added to ClueBot. -- Cobi 23:58, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
