Early life, education and family
K.P.K.Selvaraj was born on 09 October 1957 at Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu to K.P.Krishnanan and K.Kamalammal in the distinguishable Sengunthar community. From very young age, he supported his father in the business. His interests made his way to school and college. After finishing his studies, "KAITHIRI KATHIRAVAN" Selvaraj began to expertise the textile industry and export Lycra threads to various countries. He married the daughter of A.S.Kandasamy-K.Dhanalakshmi , Venthamarai Rani with whom he had two sons, S.Pranesh and Dr.Shanmugesh. In the name of Sri Palani Andavar Groups, the business was developed. In his reign, the business also extended in the field of mobile.
Service and politics
Selvaraj is passionate man in serving not only his community but also the needy ones. He is the founder of the Tiruppur K.P.K. National Matriculation School. He also supports Tiruppur Sri Kamatchi Amman Matriculation School which benefits the society. In Tiruppur, he established the "Muthamizhsangam" and continues to work forward to uphold the spirit of art, music and spirituality works. Mudaliar matrimony is an initiative taken by this honorable man. Mr. Selvaraj was the first person to rain donation to begin the construction work for the Sengunthar Head Office run by the community, which is now in the capital Chennai. Similarly he was the key person in installing the J.S. Educations. He is the member of Socio-Economic charitable forum. In the 2007 Coimbatore District Sengunthar Conference, Selvaraj came into prominence as a reputed politician. After the happen of this event, he succeeded to be the Weaver(Nesavalar) team organizer of the Senguntha Mahajana Sangam.
On the 23rd February 2014, Selvaraj succeeded A.Rajavelu Sengunthar to be the President of South Indian Sengunthar Mahajana Sangam, securing the majority of votes in the election. From then, he devoted to the fullest for the growth of the Association. The implements during his period like Association Membership Election, Society's Property Right Act and many took him to greater heights.
After 20 years, The Salem Conference Rally and Conference participated by lakhs of Sengunthar community people, for which Selvaraj himself was the host, left the whole Tamil Nadu into a dazed state. He has earned an unique place and position in the history of community leaders. He still continues to be the President of South Indian Sengunthar Mahajana Sangam.
