Virtual Villagers is a 2006 village simulator from independent game publisher Last Day of Work. The player trains his villagers to farm, breed, build, research, and heal, in an effort to solve puzzles and start island events. The villagers explore Isola (the fictitious island) on their own, with some direction provided by the player. The game simulation progresses in real time even when the game is not running; when the player later begins playing again, the simulation calculates the result of the simulation during the intervening time.

The game has been released as shareware for Windows and Macintosh.

Awards

Virtual Villagers received a "Best Casual Game" nomination in September 2006 in the GameShadow Innovation in Games Awards.
