Pathania is a clan who claim to be a branch of the Tomars of Delhi and are closely associated with Shoorsaini Yaduvanshi tribe of Punjab. They are Chandravanshi Rajputs descended from Lord Arjuna and Lord Krishna.
They established the state of Nurpur, in what is now the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh during the 11th century and ruled there until 1849.
