Copyright violations

Hello. I noticed you copied and pasted a couple of sentences from this article into 1978 Gilbertese parliamentary election, which I have removed as a copyright violation. You've been editing for 16 years – surely you know you're not allowed to copy and paste from other sources? I notice you received a warning earlier this week about doing the same thing from Diannaa. Do you do this regularly? Does someone need to go through over a decade of your contributions to check for more of this? Number 57 09:46, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

In fact you received two warnings about copyright violations in July as well. Number 57 09:49, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Hello, back. There was no indication of Copyright on this paper, and I rewrote the text. You can go through over 16 years and 10,000 contributions to check it out… --Arorae (talk) 09:50, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
The second one was a CC by NC-ND, not a compatible license. I did not know.--Arorae (talk) 09:51, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
The extent of your "rewriting" was to change "ten" to "10" and "per cent" to "%". Other than that the text is identical.
The source states:
"three members were returned unopposed, while ten others secured the 50 per cent of valid votes required for election. The remaining 22 seats were filled in a run-off election among leading candidates on 6 February. Then, on 17 March, there was a national election for Chief Minister among four candidates chosen by and from these newly-elected members of the House of Assembly."
The text you added states:
"three members were returned unopposed, while 10 others secured the 50% of valid votes required for election. The remaining 22 seats were filled in a run-off election among leading candidates on 6 February. Then, on 17 March, there was a national election for Chief Minister among four candidates, chosen by and from these newly-elected members."
The fact that the pdf of the paper had no indication of copyright is completely irrelevant. It was published in Political Science – do you really think that has no copyright? Diannaa, do you think this is potentially a WP:CIR issue? Number 57 09:57, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Many people don't understand this point: Under current copyright law, literary works are subject to copyright whether they are tagged as such or not. No registration is required, and no copyright notice is required. This applies all over the world under international treaties. So Arorae, please always assume that all material you find online is copyright whether it's marked as such or not.— Diannaa (talk) 11:01, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Re: Élections aux Kiribati

Bonjour.

Disambiguation link notification for August 9

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gilbertese language, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kuria. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:20, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Pierre Guichet moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Pierre Guichet, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Misplaced Pages). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Misplaced Pages's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Centre

Hi there. You recently moved the article Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center to Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Centre with the claim that's what the sources say. Japanese English is generally American English in spelling, not British English. Additionally all the sources have it spelt Center including the official website (see here for official site and what they name themselves.) As a result I'll be moving it all back to line up with the sources and what they call themselves. Canterbury Tail talk 13:35, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

@Canterbury Tail:. Are you sure? Here is the Official spelling: Centre…--Arorae (talk) 13:40, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
The actual official page for the facility has center, as do all the sources on the article. If in doubt we should go by what a location calls itself, not what others call it. I admit that site does show a discrepancy, but it's not the site of the location itself. Even the embedded map uses center. Canterbury Tail talk 13:43, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
@Canterbury Tail:. It is the official site of the Games. Please do not disturb me anymore here.--Arorae (talk) 13:46, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
