Revision as of 06:10, 18 December 2004 by Brian0918 (talk | contribs) (added patent pic)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)The Duryea Motor Wagon was the first standardized automobile. 15 Motor Wagons were built by the Duryea company of Springfield, Massachusetts between 1893 and 1896. Before this time, all automobiles were one-off individual models, but it is not clear whether this vehicle, or the Benz Velo, was produced first in numbers. The Motor Wagon remained in production into the 1920s.
