There are many symbols reflecting Canada's status as a constitutional monarchy, including those of the Canadian Monarch, or the vice-regal representatives.

Royal symbols

The following are symbols of the Sovereign or Crown, as the representative of the State, or of Canada's allegiance to the Crown:

Queen Elizabeth Way, Ontario signs. Official name: Queen Elizabeth Way (named for the late Queen Mother). Secret Designation: Highway 451.
Queen Elizabeth II Highway, Alberta provincial highway 2, named for the current reigning Monarch of Canada. So as to identify both its number and the name of the Monarch in one abbreviation, the Highway is colloquially designated "the QE2".
