Mswari

@Bait30: Hello, I believe you are still vandalizing the wiki page. After you deleted the majority of the content, I reverted it and included the only bill the senator had introduced that wasn't passed. The rest were passed. That would mean the page is no longer impartial. Your editing of this page is very suspicious given that it's an election year and your past editing history. Mswari (talk) 14:23, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

@Mswari: I added a section in the Carol Blood talk page here. Also, if I may, what about my past editing history is suspicious? I'm still relatively new here, but I do my best to adhere the policies and guidlines, so I would prefer if you stopped accusing me of vandalism.  Bait30  22:50, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
@Bait30: The grounds for deletion of the selections of your choice are very suspect. Given you have a history of deleting content from various Misplaced Pages pages.  Mswari  17:47, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
@Mswari: That's a very vague explanation though. And my history of deleting content mainly involves reverting vandalism and cleaning up problem articles (see WP:VANDNOT). Like I said before, I'm genuinely doing my best as an editor here; I am in no way trying to vandalize. And honestly, I would like if you takeback/strikeout your comment accusing me of vandalism.  Bait30  20:43, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Genre Warrior

Misplaced Pages:Genre warrior says at the top: "It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Misplaced Pages contributors. This page is not one of Misplaced Pages's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints."

Read. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.62.170.218 (talk) 02:06, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

@207.62.170.218: That is a standard message that pops up for WP articles that are not official policies or guidelines. However, WP:GWAR is simply a compilation/explanation of the relevant Misplaced Pages policies and guidelines that govern genre editing. Also there is consensus on WP:ALBUM that WP:GWAR is a proper guideline to follow for genres. I did also mention WP:NOR, which is an official policy, in my edit summary. Adding genres without reliable sources is original research. Anyways, I also want to give you a heads up that your "read" comment kinda comes off as a bit snarky and WP:UNCIVIL.  Bait30   02:31, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

March 2020

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Strake Jesuit High School. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. The newspaper source you added in no way verifies your edit. UIL is the state sanctioning body, and that's all. Now, Texas does not have independent conferences like most state, so we routinely enter the UIL district number in the conference parameter, thus: |conference= UIL district xx, followed by a citation (we usually link to the appropriate link at UIL) John from Idegon (talk) 02:26, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

@John from Idegon: Take a look at the article again. It literally states in the article "Shadow Creek is moving up to 6A and it’s no surprise where the Class 5A Division I football champions land - in District 23-6A with Alief Taylor, Hastings, Elsik, Alvin, Strake Jesuit and Pearland and Dawson." What part of that WP:RS does not verify my edit? I'm sorry that I didn't realize that UIL is not an athletic conference, but you could've easily fixed that by reading the cited article instead of just templating me with a level 2 warning template. Besides, taking a look at Thomas Jefferson High School (Dallas), Big Sandy High School (Big Sandy, Texas), Katy High School, Westlake High School (Texas), North Shore Senior High School (Texas), Rocksprings High School, Carroll Senior High School, The Woodlands High School, John Marshall High School (Leon Valley, Texas), William Howard Taft High School (San Antonio), Junction High School, Amarillo High School, Granbury High School, Abilene High School (Texas), Georgetown High School (Texas), Arlington Heights High School, and Odessa High School among others, I don't see any sort of consistency or consensus to list conference as "UIL district xx". For the most part I see "UIL Class xA", which again is verifiable in the source I provided.  Bait30   03:37, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
  • If you had the class and district in there, I didn't see it and I apologize. The reference should be at the end of the entry, not after UIL. Also, why are you sourcing it to a newspaper article? Why not to the UIL itself? This is one case where a primary source is the best source. John from Idegon (talk) 18:29, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Let's try again

I got off on the wrong foot with you above, and again I apologize. Just out of boredom, I took a look at your article creatons listed on your userpage. You do good work!

One problem though, and that's Jenkins. Normally a local judge wouldn't be considered notable. I'm guessing the basis you used for notability was the Ebola stuff? It's on the edge, but I'm not going to take it to AFD. Just might want to toss a far removed from Dallas source to something about his judgeship. I'm going to remove most of what you added about college. WP:NOTABLE and WP:FAMOUS are two different things. On a not famous but notable person like this, we'd never mention even a misdemeanor conviction, much less an arrest. We should mention felony convictions. For famous folks, we'll discuss arrest for just about anything. It's a privacy thing first (see WP:BLP), and second, as it is the only thing you've mentioned about his college time, It's likely WP:NPOV too.

The legal article was interesting. Turning over Gideon would be huge. Happy editing! John from Idegon (talk) 21:42, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I snapped back as well, so I'm sorry about that. I added the stuff about the college arrests because I thought I might have been mentioning only the good stuff about his career and didn't want to be accused of being non-neutral. But if you say it's WP:BLP, I trust you on that. As for the non-Dallas sources, there's a Time article I forgot to add. There's also some stuff about immigration that I haven't had a chance to add yet.  Bait30   23:54, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Clay Jenkins. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Clay Jenkins), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. @Palacearcade4: I mean that's what WP:AFD is for. I'm sorry I nominated an article you put so much effort into for deletion, but you should have made sure it passed the WP:NOTABILITY guidelines before working on it. Please familiarize yourself with the policies and guidelines before you contribute. There are many resources such as WP:Teahouse. The Daily Caller

Hi, I didn't understand that the Daily Caller was not considered a reliable or verifiable source, and THAT was the reason I kept getting reverted. I actually agree with that assessment. But did not understand. So I was being reverted for that reason? Thanks! Sorry, new to much of this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cathradgenations (talkcontribs)

@Cathradgenations: I'm not sure why the previous editors reverted, but I reverted because at first you didn't have a source. And then, when you added a source, it was an unreliable source. Also, when other editors are asking you to do things on your talk page, you should try to listen to their advice, especially since you say you are new. For example you don't follow talk page etiquette by signing your talk page messages per WP:TALK and WP:SIGNHERE. Since you are new, I'm going to go ahead and leave a welcome message/template on your talk page. It would really be a good idea for you to read it so you won't have as many problems in the future with the more experienced editors reverting your stuff.  Bait30   23:09, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, understood. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cathradgenations (talkcontribs)
@Cathradgenations: I'm not sure you actually are understanding though. You've been asked before to WP:INDENT and I literally just told you that signing talk page messages is a guideline and you still didn't do it.  Bait30   23:15, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I accepted your review as a QPQ because you did a review. Often other editors come by afterwards to question the approval and bring up new issues, and often you will see several editors doing reviews and then being overridden by other editors. Each editor can still claim it as a QPQ because they did a review.

Now, are you asking me to check the review itself, or just its eligibility as a QPQ? Yoninah (talk) 13:05, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Well I was asking to check the review itself because I thought it would have an effect on me being able to claim it as a QPQ. Now I know it’s not the case, my request is moot. Thanks!  Bait30   16:11, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Specifico

RESOLVED If you're curious, the issue was resolved here.  Bait30   05:51, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Thank you for your messages. But I think I would rather be left alone completely at this point. If you have an issue with an edit, I of course, am happy for anyone to weigh in on the comments for the article page, but please no longer contact me directly under any circumstances. I am not an expert at all of Misplaced Pages's rules, n so not always sure I am indenting correctly or commenting in the right venue.

That said, I don't wish to get any more messages from you nor your friend SPECIFICO again, except if it relates to an edit and nothing else, and that communication be left on the article's comment page, instead of a DM to me.

I do not mean to disparage anyone, but some of Specifico's behavior has upset me, and I would hope since I don't edit on pages he is normally interested in. I have noticed that he has edited pages he has never edited before, except for the fact that I have contributed or edited that page. And that he then goes to that page for the very firs time to revert everything I have contributed, even though many of my edits are mundane, and despite the fact that I have made thousands of edits, have never had someone act this manner.

As to formally complaining, that is my right and choice, and I don't think it is right that people keep "warning" me not to. That is intimidating.

As to disparagement, it is not a disparagement for someone like myself to say they are concerned about someones behavior towards them. And it is not disparagement to simply quote Misplaced Pages's own formal findings about SPECIFICO acting inappropriately to other women on more than one occasion. I've reiterated Misplaced Pages's findings in their bans of SPECIFICO, word for word, exactly what they said, just below. If that is disparagement, maybe he and his friends should take it up with Misplaced Pages... which they already did, although Misplaced Pages ruled against him.

This is what Misplaced Pages's administrators found, THEIR EXACT WORDS: 1. No evidence has been presented that Carol is hounding Specifico. It looks like she wants to disengage from the interactions with Specifico but can't do it because Specifico keeps initiating contact. In the unlikely case that Carol starts hounding or baiting Specifico, the interaction should be extended to her as well. --Sonicyouth86 (talk) 20:46, 12 September 2014 (UTC) "SPECIFICO continues to WikiHound Carolmooredc.

2. Here is the latest example. Carolmooredc has never edited our article on September 11 attacks until now. SPECIFICO has never edited this article before until now. Despite these two editors having never edited this article before, after Carolmooredc makes her first edit on 20:27, September 10, 2014, SPECIFICO show up hours later,12:13, September 11, 2014 to complain about Carolmooredc's edit and then subsequently reverts Carolmooredc's edit.18:13, September 11, 2014. At this point, like the others I simply want to go about my business without being molested further.Cathradgenations (talk) 00:28, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Please do not contact me again, and please do not have SPECIFICO bother me again. If someone disagrees with an edit, they can always post on the comments page of the article. In that I don't edit on pages SPECIFICO does, I would hope he stops bothering me. He has edited numerous pages for the very first time ever-- only after I have edited them. That is the same type of behavior that Misplaced Pages formally concluded that in the past he continued towards another woman even though the administrators concluded "she wants to disengage from... Speicifco" and that only "Specifico keeps initiating contact."

Again, if either you or him continue to bother me I will formally complain. Leave me alone now, all is good. There the matter rests. Please, no more messages from Specifico or anyone associated with him. And not indenting properly or signing right is not a reason that you can ban someone from Misplaced Pages. Threats like that are inappropriate as well.Cathradgenations (talk) 03:36, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Your controversial keep for "Stepanakert pogrom"

Sorry, I have objections to your closing of Afd and I disagree with the text you left (pogrom doesn't pass WP:GNG, if you look at articles talk, you will see it's just a delusion). You couldn't find even 2-3 RS's calling it a "pogrom". Per WP:NACD, "Close calls and controversial decisions are better left to admins". Please, could you revert your closure and wait for an admin's closure? Thanx. GevHev4 (talk) 18:36, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that it was either close or controversial. 7 keep !votes to 2 !delete votes. I'm not sure what you mean by delusion. As to calling it a pogrom, you're right, I shouldn't have called it that considering that most editors agreed that pogrom isn't the best term.  Bait30   19:16, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Let's agree that you have very limited information on the topic and just doing mathematical comparison between 2 and 7. I'm not sure it's a good reason for closure. So please, revert your closure. If you're interested in topic, you could find more about the problems of naming and RS's here https://en.wikipedia.org/Talk:Stepanakert_pogrom . GevHev4 (talk) 19:26, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Uhhh, let's not agree. That was not the only reason I closed the discussion. There's a reason they're called "!votes" instead of "votes". I closed the discussion because the discussion lasted for seven days and there was a consensus that there were at least two reliable, independent sources that provide significant coverage of the topic in question.  Bait30   19:50, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Here is that "significant coverage" (17 words altogether):
  • "Two months later, renewed clashes between Armenians and Azeris in Stepanakert sent nearly all of the capital's Azeri population fleeing from the city"
  • "The violence heralded disaster for the minority communities of Karabakh's two main towns, as all the Armenians were driven from Shusha and the Azerbaidjanis were expelled from Stepanakert" . GevHev4 (talk) 20:01, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
My talk page is neither WP:AfD nor WP:DRV.  Bait30   20:13, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
