He is known for sharing his idiosyncratic political views on Twitter, where he has over 150,000 followers, and for covering the riots associated with the 2020 George Floyd protests, which he claims were mostly ignored by other journalists. He supported Bernie Sanders in the 2016 US Democratic primaries, and advocated "conscientious abstention" in the 2016 Presidential election. He has been highly critical of the Clintons (Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton). He did not express a preference for either candidate in the 2020 Presidential election.
