Background

I've restored this deletion by a one-edit contributor last year, as without it the remaining paragraph makes little sense.
OTOH the whole paragraph seems a bit dubious; this article is about Andorra, not the other three states, so why is this stuff here at all? Can I suggest this section be re-written to cover Andorra and the Euro, not anywhere else? Moonraker12 (talk) 20:59, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

Dual currency

The Background section also says Andorra "had historically used the French franc and Spanish peseta". As a matter of interest, does anyone know how that worked? Did they have a (constantly changing) local exchange rate? Was everything dual-priced? Or were the coins given a local nominal value? Does anyone know? And are there any other examples of this happening that anyone knows about? My curiosity has been piqued...Moonraker12 (talk) 21:04, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

Requested move 28 December 2022

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: not moved. Although "e strive to make titles on Misplaced Pages as consistent as possible with other titles on similar subjects." (WP:CONSISTENT), the article content significantly exceeds the scope of the articles named "X euro coins". See also Talk:Lithuania_and_the_euro#Requested_move_28_December_2022. Andorra and the euroAndorran euro coins – The correct name of the page is "Andorran euro coins" as in use for all contries that have already introduced the euro. Please do see: Austrian euro coins, Belgian euro coins, Cypriot euro coins, Estonian euro coins, Finnish euro coins, French euro coins, German euro coins, Greek euro coins, Irish euro coins, Italian euro coins, Latvian euro coins, Luxembourg's euro coins, Maltese euro coins, Dutch euro coins, Portuguese euro coins, Slovak euro coins, Slovenian euro coins, Spanish euro coins, Monégasque euro coins, Sammarinese euro coins, Vatican euro coins. Thank you 79.31.38.141 (talk) 21:32, 28 December 2022 (UTC)

@Kahastok: Actually tha page is already (and exactly) about that subject: Andorran euro coins. It is easy to read and verify how all the 22 previous mentioned pages (From Austria euro coins to Vatican euro coins) are organized in that same identical way. Do Please verify all contents, thank you --79.31.38.141 (talk) 13:24, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
There are four main sections of the article, and only numbers 3 and 4 are focussed on coins. The first two are focussed first on unilateral adoption and then on the process of reaching the monetary agreement. This goes some way beyond simply discussing coins, and would seem to be out of scope for an article on Andorran euro coins. Kahastok talk 14:13, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
  • Neutral at the moment, although I would have no objection to the current content being under the title Andorran euro coins or similar. The title is not a straitjacket, and a split would break up a coherent topic. CMD (talk) 14:40, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
  • Oppose. This article is obviously about more than just the coins, it's about the general arrangements that Andorra has with the single currency. I also don't think a split would be useful at this stage, the article is certainly not too long.  — Amakuru (talk) 21:23, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Additional arguments regarding the above proposal

It may be noted that this nomination was posted concurrently with Talk:Lithuania and the euro#Requested move 28 December 2022 and, following the closure of that nomination, additional arguments were posted under Talk:Lithuania and the euro#Additional points regarding the above discussion. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 16:34, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Comment: I do confirm that @Roman Spinner: correctly understood my point of view and why I proposed the moving. Also the proposal to split the page in two different pages might be interesting, but I wonder if there will be "enough texts" to create two pages that can properly/adequately stand on their own --87.9.99.123 (talk) 17:55, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
