Yes, after many months of consideration, the Messianic Judaism article has expanded to the point that a seperate Messianic Movement article is needed to explain to readers the finer details of the modern movement itself. Please keep this article relevant to a full explanation of history, a summary of current issues being debated WITHIN the movement, and links to sites and portals that can give a visitor a broad entryway into exploring the movement as a whole. inigmatus 17:32, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
History
No evidence has been given to support your assertion that the Messianc movement was started by Baptists. This whole section is original research, very dubious, and inconsistant with the history established in the article on Messianic Judaism. Lorem 03:32, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- In fact, there is much evidence the roots of the modern Messianic movement began within the Jewish community, specifically among Orthodox Jews who sought truth to inconsistencies in rabbinical tradition. Later, ethnic Jews who had come to faith in Baptist, Nazarine and Assembly of God churches, but did not feel welcomed as full members in those churches, created congregations that blended their new theology and the ancient practices. The movement gained strength in the 1960s with converts from the Jesus movement and Calvary Chapel, supported by Messianic singing groups such as ] and the ], popular Jewish singers like Kieth Green, and evangelistic efforts of Moishe Rosen's Jews for Jesus.--DeknMike (talk) 23:49, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Sources
There must be some sources for the info that exists here, but who are they? I have read a claim in a short-info box on the net, taken from a journal that claims that at the time of the independence declaration of Israel, there were 12 messianic jews living there. This is a really fascinating information that I think surely should be in this article, the problem is that I think a more valid source is needed than the short-info that I read at a page that I think no longer exists, or at least the info is gone.
In general, as I see it, this info does not necessarily contradicts Messianic Judaism, it only tells the story from a different point of view. The combined info could be merged into one text without any problems, but this article needs SOURCES, books or article references will be fine for me if they are not considered too obscure as I do not think that anyone would conciously lie about any details. If they have many details, I think that it is a stronger possibility that they are true. --KMA "HF" N (talk) 00:43, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
