Why?
I don't see the point in merging it into the page... I think that they should just make a page devoted to Neocron classes 71.121.69.113 21:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree
I agree that it should be merged, as there is no apparent need for an entire page devoted to a single neocron class.. and is much more suited in the neocron article itself.
If you look at World of Warcraft and Everquest 2 neither of those two games have articles dedicated to each individual class.
Although World of Warcraft does have a page that details each class (Note: just ONE page) it is justified due to the enormity of said game.
Merge
Neither the MMORPG or the individual classes are hot topics anymore, so I think a subsection in this space detailing them (There's only four, anyway) would be plenty adequate for everyone involved. -- Emstidor 22:27, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Subscription Fees
Neither this article nor the official website seem to mention the monthly fees anywhere.
Does anyone know what subscription plans there are?
--ShadowCode 17:33, 27 June 2007 (UTC) I don't know for sure but last time I checked it was US$14/month if you go month-by-month, with discounts for paying for 3 months and 6 months at a time. Neocron 1 was $10/month-by-month. 76.199.4.85 (talk) 13:30, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Subscription fees and prices are not appropriate encyclopedic content per WP:VG/GL, and shouldn't be part of this article. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 20:08, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Story Line
There is a tag at the moment: This article or section contains a plot summary that is overly long or excessively detailed compared to the rest of the article. The storyline is so short that I wonder why it has been tagged as being overly excessive. If anything, the plot needs to be longer. Could an admin please remove the tag? 210.176.70.2 02:28, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not an admin, but I removed the tag. --70.128.124.118 15:14, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
I just took out a picture that was taking up space in the wrong spot. Hover cab station picture was not in the right place and was just ruining the way the page looked.216.119.179.101 (talk) 02:31, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- If you have a problem with where the image is located, move it elsewhere rather than removing it from the article. As a non-free image, it gets deleted 7 days after it's removed from the article. The illustration provided by such an image is quite useful to people interested in the game, and in my view takes precedence over stylistic issues. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 03:49, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Proposed split
I'm proposing to split this article into an article on the now-defunct MMORPG Neocron and another on Neocron 2: Beyond Dome of York (the sequel, which is still running). I'm not entirely for the split at the moment, so I'm hoping to elicit discussion on the subject. I've got a good set of arguments in favor and against the split. Here they are:
PRO:
- NC is a separate game from NC2. They are significantly different, and though players' characters transitioned to the new game, it involved a different publisher and release. I don't think this is so different from EverQuest and EverQuest II.
- NC2 involved many significant changes from NC, and there is some controversy surrounding it considering it had originally been planned as a free expansion pack for NC. And even then, there's precedent for articles on expansion packs (e.g., StarCraft: Brood War).
- It is trivial to satisfy the "Essential content" section of WP:VG/GL for both articles independently without significant overlap.
- The infobox requirement has already been satisfied for each game.
- The development section for each would be significant. The development of NC spans more than 3 years before release, and NC2 still has expansions coming out ("Evolution").
- The reception section would be rather large for NC, but would also be significant for NC2 in a comprehensive article.
- The alternative seems to have a "series" article on Neocron, which would seem to have poor flow. The development section would go from discussing the development of NC to NC2 and then back to the reception of NC.
CON:
- The ultimate goal of any article is to reach featured article status. It seems very unlikely that these two could do so individually. While there may be enough to satisfy the "essential content" criteria for video games articles, that doesn't mean much.
- While NC2 was billed as a sequel, it did start out as an expansion pack, and turned out much like one. It was more a "political" sequel in that because publishers changed, Reakktor wanted to raise the rates and hoped the hype from a sequel would fuel an influx of old timers who left and new players.
- The development of NC and NC2 has been ongoing throughout both games' lives. The threat of interrupting flow might not be significant when considering a recounting of the development in this fashion.
So, I'm going to open this to discussion! Thanks for your input! —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 03:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

I know there are a LOT more articles out there. For example, there's a Computer Gaming World that pans Neocron. Fortunately, there still is a lot of this stuff available... unlike the other game article I've been involved in; Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space... —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 23:50, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
RS nature of Neocron Forums
I believe in the case of this article, considering that Reakktor mostly or entirely posts news about the game on their forums rather than in a blog or an announcements page on their website, we can make an exception regarding posts to the KK forums that are made by KK's representatives. This is coming from the essay, Reliable source examples. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 16:14, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Restoring gameration and gamerstats ratings
Removing these is pointless. They're part of the standard VG template. If there's an objection to their reliability or relevance, that should be brought up with the VG project more generally, rather than undertaken here. I've restored the ratings once again. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 18:50, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, seems there's a discussion underway. WP:VG#Mass removal of GameStats references. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 18:52, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
