My name is Joshua Wynne, known by the username 4TheWynne on Misplaced Pages. I live in Melbourne, and I'm a musician and Wikipedian focusing on topics such as music, films and Australian rules football. For more on what I do on Misplaced Pages, check out my projects page.

Biography

Music plays a huge part in my life. I am a musician who primarily plays alternative rock, heavy metal and other rock genres; I play multiple instruments, my main ones being bass and piano, and I have absolute pitch. I write my own music and arrange existing pieces; some of my works include a full transcription of Metallica's "No Leaf Clover", with the San Francisco Symphony. Since November 2014, I have fronted and played bass and piano for my own alternative rock band, Aspect, where I also serve as the band's main songwriter; I am working towards immersing in the Melbourne music scene and performing and releasing music with the band, which has been my dream for a number of years. I have also uploaded more than 100 bass covers onto my YouTube channel, which used to be a weekly ritual.

My biggest passions are music, films and Australian rules football, having been born into a footy-mad family from Victoria and grown up with the sport; I follow the tennis pretty closely as well, and to be honest, the list of sports that I watch and/or keep a keen eye on pretty much ends at those two. Throughout high school, I also wrote and edited a fantasy novel titled The Dragon Hunter Chronicles: Conflict. I am heavily into World of Warcraft and its lore, having played the game since 2006, and it served as a source of inspiration for the novel.

My favourite band is Metallica, and my favourite solo artist is Mandy Moore. I was introduced to the former through the Guitar Hero game series – another favourite game of mine – and they have been my greatest influence. My favourite album is Metallica's Death Magnetic (2008), and my favourite song is Metallica's "One", which was actually how I was introduced to the band (through Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock). Some other favourite bands include Prototype, Machine Head, DragonForce, Muse, Paramore, Coldplay, The Cranberries, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam and Tool, and some other solo artists that I follow include Courtney Barnett (my first concert) and Sara Bareilles. I also work on the articles of several actors, films, Australian rules footballers and other individuals, among other things.

I follow Essendon in the Australian Football League (AFL) and AFL Women's (AFLW); I followed Melbourne before Essendon joined the latter competition, and am an Essendon AFLW foundation member. My all-time favourite AFL player is former Essendon captain Jobe Watson (dual premiership player and four-time Coleman Medallist Lance Franklin was also a big favourite of mine), and my all-time favourite AFLW player is former Melbourne premiership captain (and current West Coast AFLW coach) Daisy Pearce; bringing her article to featured article status is one of my proudest achievements. In tennis, my favourite players are Rafael Nadal and Iga Świątek; other players that I've followed over the years include Maria Sharapova and Aussies Lleyton Hewitt and Ashleigh Barty (the 2022 Australian Open was a fun time).

When I was younger, I played Australian rules football for two years, before becoming an assistant coach for the girls' AFL teams that represented the school that I went to (at school, representative and club levels). This coincided with women's football really gaining traction across the country, beginning with the women's exhibition games and culminating in the creation of the AFL Women's. I briefly returned to the system in 2018 through a different club on the Sunshine Coast as a team manager, before stopping to focus solely on my music. On Misplaced Pages, I initially just worked on the articles of the players mentioned above, however I later decided to start a project where I would focus on a player from every team in both the men's and women's competitions.
