Brian Watson (born October 28, 1971, Middletown, New York) is an American entrepreneur and political activist. He is the founder and CEO of Northstar Commercial Partners, a commercial real estate investment company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. He is best known for running as the Republican candidate from Greenwood Village, Colorado in the 2012 election for Colorado House of Representatives District 3.

Biography

Watson graduated from Olathe High School on the Western Slope of Colorado. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in real estate at the University of Colorado Boulder and then joined Cushman & Wakefield of Colorado, Inc (C&W), an international commercial real estate firm. Watson is the founder of Opportunity Coalition, a nonprofit social welfare organization pursuant to IRC 501(c)(4). The organization promotes and facilitates a business friendly culture for free market, entrepreneurship, and collaboration. In September 2014, Watson was included in the list of Denver Business Journal Power Book finalists. For his contributions to community development, he has been interviewed by several local notable radio and television stations including the Aurora's Channel 8 News, the Aaron Harber Show, Commonsense Talk Radio, the Colorado Entrepreneur Show, The Good News, NewsTalk 1310 KFKA, NewsRadio 850 KOA's Colorado Morning News, NewsRadio 850 KOA, 21st Century Television, KHOW Radio.

Watson resides in Greenwood Village with his wife and two children.

Career

Business career

During his seven-year tenure at Cushman & Wakefield, Watson managed landlord and tenant representations and rose to the rank of Director. In 2000, Watson founded Northstar Commercial Partners, a commercial real estate investment company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Its main goal is the acquisition, rehabilitation, and lease-up of vacant commercial real estate buildings in the state of Colorado.

In October 2014, Watson founded "Education Opportunity Fund", a $100 million charter school facility fund The fund's main activity is to convert vacant schools, offices, retails, and industrial buildings into productive educational facilities.

Political career

Watson ran for Colorado House of Representatives District 3 in the 2012 elections. He first ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 26, 2012 but was defeated by incumbent Daniel Kagan, a democrat, in the general election on November 6, 2012.
