Tropical Storm Boris of the 2008 Pacific hurricane season formed on June 27, making it the second Pacific tropical cyclone of the season. It formed from an area of disturbance south of the Baja Peninsula.
Storm History
On June 27 at 2 a.m. PDT (0900 UTC), after several days over the warm waters south of the Baja Peninsula, an area of low pressure developed enough organized convection that it was designated a tropical depression. With warm waters and low wind shear, its local area was conducive for development and slight strengthening occurred. At 8 a.m PDT (1500 UTC) Tropical Depression Two E was upgraded to Tropical Storm Boris.
