Information icon Hello, I'm Ohnoitsjamie. I noticed that you recently removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Misplaced Pages with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Hello, I'm Skynxnex. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Murder of Joanna Yeates, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Skynxnex (talk) 05:06, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Misplaced Pages, as you did at Clerks II, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Please refrain from belittling other editors.

Problem with you

Link is not there, link is not there... So does that mean you will remove it? Talk about it with other editors rather directly removing it. Sometimes we use archives and if it doesn't work we still let the link be there as a reference that originally it was referenced from there. And kindly stop attacking me or any other editor. Thanks, ExclusiveEditor Notify Me! 07:49, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

Stop saying and doing stupid things. 135.23.175.2 (talk) 07:51, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Rather than saying that, can you tell me what will happen by removing it, instead of asking an editor to add archive page for it? ExclusiveEditor Notify Me! 07:54, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Let's see the archive page for it, then, m*ron. I'll wait. 135.23.175.2 (talk) 07:57, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
You removed 4 links, of which 2's archive were already working, and I've added archive link of one more. Only one is left dead which is okay, as it is there to reference that when once it worked, it cited that. ExclusiveEditor Notify Me! 08:01, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Okay, great, and if you'd reverted me on that you'd have had a point. That said, only two of the four work, and those two are to Waybackmachine pages. The standards are pretty low for Misplaced Pages if it's acceptable to say "this broken link totally backed this up, trust me." That whole section should be excised. You're not wasting your life at all, bro.135.23.175.2 (talk) 15:23, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Thing is, if you remove a whole paragraph of content without stating why, you're going to get reverted. Repeating the behaviour and then throwing a tantrum and calling names when someone explains what you're doing wrong also does not help. If you had explained your reasoning in the edit summary in the first place, the rest of us wouldn't have to waste our time dealing with this. ... discospinster talk 17:32, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

A copy of my reply to your report at Misplaced Pages:Edit filter/False positives/Reports

I left the following comment at Misplaced Pages:Edit filter/False positives/Reports in response to your report there, thought you should see it even if you don't check back there:

  1. Please remain civil. Calling someone an imbecile or a dummy does nothing to help your case.
  2. As stated on your talk page, the fact that the cited page no longer exists doesn't make the facts incorrect. Some users here know how to find still-existing sources for these facts, including (in some cases) archived versions of the dead pages. Please read Misplaced Pages:Link rot for what should be done. In particular, the following is written in bold at the top of this page: In general, do not delete cited information solely because the URL to the source does not work any longer.
  3. Please also note that as part of an attempt to reduce edit warring, we have a bright-line rule against reverting the same page more than 3 times in 24 hours, known as the three-revert rule. It doesn't matter if you're correct in your reverts (although, as stated above, you aren't).

Just so you know. Animal lover |666| 09:58, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
