The Great Revival: CVU Vandalism Studies Project
Hi! We're dropping you this rather unexpected message on your talk page because you signed up (either quite a while ago or rather recently) to be a member of the Vandalism Studies project. Sadly, the project fell into semi-retirement a few years ago, but as part of a new plan to fix up the Counter-Vandalism Unit, we're bringing back the Vandalism Studies project, with a new study planned for Late 2012! But we need your help. Are you still interested in working with us on this project? Then please sign up today! (even if you signed up previously, you'll still need to sign up again - we're redoing our member list in order to not harass those who are no longer active on the Wiki - sorry!) If you have any questions, please leave them on this page. Thanks, and we can't wait to bring the project back to life! -Theopolisme (talk) & Dan653 (talk), Coordinators

Articles for Creation urgently needs YOUR help!
Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 1749 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.
If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.
We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 2 or 3 reviews, it would be extremely beneficial. |
Packers stuff
- What do you think the Packers record will be this year? You are a GBP fan. Do you like Mike McCarthy? Do you get on Facebook. You might want to tag I don't know enough about the clippers' collapse (talk · contribs) as a sock on their page. I think MM is Scott Brooks of the NFL. Do you agree? --205.167.128.156 (talk) 18:18, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
- I think if the Packer's remain healthy they are one of the teams to beat in the NFC North, I don't want to give a prediction on the record. Yes, I have a facebook but I'd prefer not to disclose it here. I like keeping that stuff separate. I don't know enough basketball to compare the two, but I'm a big fan of Mccarthy's work, easily one of the best coaches in the league.--Church 22:42, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

Talkback about out-of-date contents in the page "White Album 2"
I have no opinion with your decision of undo my editing with the page "White Album 2", but I also want to get you informed that this page's content is seriously out-of-dated and my written english is not so good, I really expect someone who could translate the Chinese ver. or Japanese ver. of this page into English and get the current page substituted. ShikiSuen (talk) 21:45, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
- Looking back on it, I shouldn't of reverted your edit as vandalism and I apologize first and foremost. You were trying to help, however things like that are better left on the articles talkpage then in the actual article itself. I don't know anything about the anime so I can't really help, best wishes. --SKATER 22:07, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Micah Hyde (American football)
On 29 October 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Micah Hyde (American football), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Green Bay Packers rookie cornerback Micah Hyde broke 17 school records playing high school football, including the most touchdown passes in a season? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Micah Hyde (American football). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Careful
When approving an AfC on a business, look carefully at the sources given to show notability. Business Wire is a repository for press releases; as such, content on — or sourced to — BW does not function as an assertion of notability. DS (talk) 14:00, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
- @DragonflySixtyseven: Yeah, looking back on it you're right. My fault, I'll try to find some better sources.--SKATER 20:19, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

About Haha Clinton-Dix
I saw you expanded Kyle Murphy, Dean Lowry, and Kyler Fackrell. I am expanding the Clinton-Dix article. Could you please expand some of it for me just as you did with those 3. I liked how you expanded those 3 other articles and I would like to have HHCD expanded as well. I am hoping to have HHCD my first GA and I know I will worry about that once the article is on B Class but I am focusing on expanding it. Could you please try to expand Haha Clinton-Dix the way you did with those 3 articles. Thanks @Church:. ThunderFan109 23:58, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello Skater,
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Misplaced Pages since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Misplaced Pages's most prolific users.
- Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Misplaced Pages in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.
See also the list of top 100 reviewers.
- Less good news, and an appeal for some help
The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.
- Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019
At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.
- Training video
Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
Hello, Church. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. |
Hello Skater,
- Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
- Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
- If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
- We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Misplaced Pages that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
- With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.
