  • Frederik Wilhelm Stabell was a Norwegian inventor and industrialist. He was born in 1853 and died in 1921. Stabell is often credited with inventing the Stabell-motor, which was an early type of internal combustion engine.

Stabell's engine was patented in 1889 and was designed to be more efficient and practical than earlier engines. The engine was also designed to be more compact, making it suitable for use in smaller vehicles.

Stabell was also involved in the development of the Oslo and Krippleiken Railway, a railway line that connects Oslo to the city of Krippleiken in Norway. He served as the project's manager during its construction from 1898 to 1902.

Stabell's contributions to Norwegian industry and technology were significant, and he received numerous awards and honors for his work. He was a fellow of the Norwegian Engineering Association and served as a committee member for the Norwegian Patent Office.
