- 21 January: 2022 Diyala massacre, eleven soldiers killed in their barracks by Daeshis in Al-Azim.
- 22 January: January 2022 Hatra airstrike, 3 top Daeshi leaders in airstrikes.
- 8 February: Seven Daeshi leaders killed in airstrikes.
- 13 March: 2022 Erbil missile attacks, three killed, seven injured in missile strikes by the IRGC.
April-June
- 6 April: 2022 Iraqi presidential election
- May: 2022 Sinjar clashes, 3,000 displaced due to clashes between YBS and the Iraqi Army with support from the Turkish Army and the KDP.
- June: 2022 Iraqi political crisis
July-September
- 20 July: Zakho resort attack, nine killed, thirty-three injured in shelling on the Barakh resort by either the KDP or the Turkish Armed Forces perpetrated the attacks.
- 29 August: 2022 Baghdad clashes, thirty killed, 590+ injured in clashes between political protestors and Iraqi security forces. The unrest was considered the most serious crisis in the country since the defeat of the Daeshis in the country in 2017, since which Iraq has had relative stability.
- 17 November Sulaymaniyah gas tank explosion, fifteen killed and a dozen more injured in explosions of a residential area.
- 18 December: 2022 Kirkuk bombing, nine security forces killed when an IED attacks their convoy followed by a firefight with Daeshis, killing one.
