The 87th Separate Rifle Regiment formerly known as the 119th Rifle Regiment is a military unit of Russian Ground Forces. Until January 1, 2023, it was part of the militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
History
The regiment was formed on 19 February 2022 as the 119th Rifle Regiment. On 1 January 2023, the regiment was renamed as the 87th Rifle Regiment and became attached to the 1st Donetsk Army Corps. The regiment took part in the Battle of Avdiivka, and as of May 2024 was operating southwest of Donetsk.
