Al Noor Island (Arabic: جزيرة النور) is an island in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates vehicles are prohibited from entering the island. Al Noor Island is part of the Downtown Sharjah.

Etymology

Al Noor Island is located on Khalid Lagoon in the Emirate of Sharjah, across the water from Al Majaz Island. It can be reached by car through Corniche Street, S110, then continue on foot through the pedestrian bridge behind Al Noor Mosque in Sharjah Corniche Street.

The Butterfly House

The Butterfly House is one of the attractions of Al Noor Island. It is located near the pedestrian bridge that connects the island with the main road. The house is home to more than 500 colourful butterfly species that vary in size and shape, so visitors can watch and learn about the butterfly life cycle up close. Furthermore, some of these species include the Common Rose butterfly, the Peacock Flower butterfly, the Scissors butterfly, the Common Mormon butterfly, and the Autumn Leaf butterfly.
