Antoine Daniel (French pronunciation: [ɑ̃twan danjɛl]; born 23 April 1989) is a French video game livestreamer, vlogger and actor. He is known for his popular comedy YouTube series What the Cut!?, published between 2012 and 2015. He reached more than 2.8 million subscribers in August 2018. He has been on Twitch since 2018 and had more than 1,000,000 followers there as of October 2023.
Early life
He studied for two years at the ESRA in Paris before beginning his training in sound engineering while devoting himself to musical composition. Once he acquired his BTS, he worked in a musical publishing house as an input operator. It was during that time, on 1 March 2012, that he created the show What The Cut !?.
Inspiration
Daniel claimed British filmmaker TomSka as one of his favourite video makers. He later played a role in his video Le Alien. He draws inspiration from YouTube channel Poops and more broadly from humorous video montages and Internet memes.

What the Cut !?
What the Cut !? was a humor show created by Antoine Daniel. The first episode was uploaded on 1 March 2012 on his YouTube channel. The show concept comes from Ray William Johnson's Equals Three. When it comes to his humor and staging inspirations, his most obvious references are videographer TomSka and British director Edgar Wright.
In each episode, Daniel analyses three funny, strange or freaky videos, and jokingly comments on them. He plays a character who speaks quickly, wildly and sometimes screams. The editing uses short cuts, and the absurd jokes explains the show's name: "What the ..." for the absurdist humour, and "Cut", for the video editing, which Antoine Daniel considers the most important part of his videos.
After the first couple of videos, episodes were released monthly. However, that schedule could not be kept: starting with episode #35 episodes would feature a 5- to 15-minute sketch at the beginning of the video. The 37th and final episode was released on 30 December 2015.
Clyde Vanilla
On 15 November 2016, Antoine Daniel announced in a video that he was working on a science fiction audio story called Clyde Vanilla, which he co-wrote and directed with the author and actor Wendoh. An illustration representing the logo of the series, as well as music composed by Antoine Daniel were revealed on social networks.
The first season, of ten episodes, was released between September and November 2017 on several platforms, including YouTube and Bandcamp. He did part of the writing, as well as the mixing, editing, music and sound effects. After a reception that Antoine Daniel himself described as "lukewarm-cold", no sequel was announced.
Twitch
In 2018, Antoine moved to Twitch. As of 26 October 2023, he had 1,011,700 followers.
He participated to 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024 editions of Z Event, a French charity reuniting several francophone streamers.
