Artemon (Ancient Greek : Ἀρτέμων), called "Melopoios" (Μελοποιός), from his being a Melic poet , appears to have been a contemporary of the comic playwright Aristophanes .
It is usually believed that he is the author of the two epigrams still extant in the Greek Anthology .
